Hosting a shower and need games that guests will actually play? Use the picker on this page. Choose a game, shuffle for a fresh card, and print one for every guest. The table below shows group size, minutes and supplies for each of twelve games, so you can choose before you buy anything.
Games are optional. One vendor guide says to plan them only if the guest of honor wants them, so ask her first.

Group sizes and minutes are our planning estimates from how each game runs, not measured results. Minutes assume a host who keeps the pace moving. Supplies assume you buy nothing beyond pens and basic craft items.
Look at the last column first if you are short on time. Printed games take twenty minutes to prepare. The others need shopping.

Shuffle, then print
Press shuffle and the card changes. Each guest gets a different arrangement, so two people never finish together just because they sit side by side. Keep pressing until the set looks right, then print.
Fit it to your paper:
- US Letter and A4 both work. Choose the size in your print dialog and keep scaling at 100 percent.
- Bingo and emoji sheets fit two to a page. Advice cards fit four to a page, ready to cut.
- Print two spares for every game. Drinks spill and someone will ask for a second sheet.
- Use plain white paper. Cardstock only makes sense for the advice cards, which guests keep.
Run it in 5 steps
- Choose three games from the table: one quiet, one short group game and one for the guest of honor.
- Shuffle, print and count the pens before the day. Two pens per guest covers lost ones.
- Put cards on the seats or in the middle of each table before anyone arrives.
- Say one sentence to start each game and name when it ends.
- Give one small prize per game, then go back to the food and the talking.
Match the game to your group
The same game flops with one crowd and shines with another. Check who is coming.
Mixed ages, many strangers. Choose bingo and advice cards. Nobody has to stand up, perform or know the couple well.
Close friends who love a laugh. Try the toilet paper gown and who said it. Both reward noise and a confident host.
A small group of six to ten. Pair up for emoji puzzles and read the advice cards aloud together. Skip bingo, because a full house comes in a few minutes.
A shower with family from both sides. Couple trivia works if the questions stay kind. Ask the guest of honor to approve the list in advance.
A worked example: 20 guests, a 2.5 hour shower
Example only, with assumptions we state. Your numbers will differ.
Assumptions: 20 guests, a 150 minute shower, US Letter paper, and these layouts: 2 bingo cards per page, 2 emoji sheets per page, 4 advice cards per page, 4 trivia sheets per page. We add 2 spares for every game that prints per guest.
- Bingo, 22 cards at 2 per page: 11 pages
- Emoji puzzles, 22 sheets at 2 per page: 11 pages
- Advice cards, 22 cards at 4 per page: 6 pages (5.5 rounded up)
- Couple trivia, 4 teams of 5 plus 1 spare, so 5 sheets at 4 per page: 2 pages
- Total to print: 30 pages
Hosted minutes: emoji 10, advice cards read aloud 5, trivia 15. That is 30 minutes, or 20 percent of the 150 minute party. Bingo runs during gifts and adds no hosted time.
Swap in your own guest count. Divide by the cards per page, round up and add the spares. The same sum works for any shower.
Where games fit in the afternoon
Put games in the gaps, never on top of the main moments. Our bridal shower hub lays out the rest of the plan for the host.
- Arrival: hand out bingo cards at the door. People waiting for the others have something to hold.
- While eating: pass advice cards down the table. Guests write between bites.
- Gift opening: bingo runs best here, since everyone is watching the same thing.
- After cake: run the one group game, then pass the prize.
Do not run a game while the guest of honor is in the middle of opening a gift. She is the main event.
Mistakes that make a game fall flat
Too many games. Four or five turns the party into homework. Three, with room around them, is plenty.
Questions the group cannot answer. Trivia full of private jokes shuts out half the room. Mix how you met, favorites and a few funny habits.
Making guests perform. Anything that needs a volunteer to stand up should be an invitation, not an order.
No prizes ready. A candle, a mini bottle or a small plant is enough. Read the notes on what to give and what it costs before you shop.
Forgetting the theme. A game with a garden or travel angle fits a matching shower theme and costs nothing extra.
Send this page to the other hosts
If other bridesmaids are bringing supplies, send them the list so nobody buys the same thing twice.
Use the Share row under the intro to send the link, or to pass your choice to the maid of honor.

Questions people ask
What are good bridal shower games?
Good ones need no skill, no stage and no teams of strangers. Bingo, an emoji puzzle sheet and advice cards all play from a chair while people eat. Trivia about the couple works if the host knows the answers. Pick two quiet games and one group game, then let the party breathe.
How many games should a bridal shower have?
Three is a comfortable number for most showers: one that runs quietly in the background, one short group game, and one that makes the guest of honor laugh. More than that and the party turns into a quiz show. Our planning rule is to keep hosted game time under a third of the party.
How long do bridal shower games take?
Each game in the table above runs from five to twenty minutes, and the quiet ones add no hosted time at all. One vendor blog describes a shower as lasting roughly two to four hours. For a shower that long, three games with about thirty hosted minutes leave plenty of room to eat and talk.
What are bridal shower games that are not lame?
The ones that avoid forced performance. Skip anything that makes a guest act silly in front of strangers or touches the bride's body. Pick games where people talk to each other, such as emoji puzzles or advice cards read aloud. Keep the prizes small and the rounds short, and nobody feels trapped.
